Book Donations
Do you have gently used books to donate to the Friends?
We hold Drive-up Donation Events every Saturday (except during inclement weather).
Volunteers will be available to accept your donations on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Friends Headquarters – 8279 Melrose Dr., Lenexa, KS 66214.
Car Donations
Selling a car is good, but donating a car is better! We handle the pick-up, sale, and paperwork all for free. Plus, vehicle donations are tax-deductible. We accept cars, trucks, boats, RVs, and more and provide free pick-up.

The @jocolibrary Memory Lab, supported by volunteers of the Johnson County Genealogical Society is now one year old! ๐
This service was introduced in April of 2023 to provide free access to scanners and other equipment for people to digitize, preserve, and organize old photos, slides, VHS and 8 mm movies, and documents. And it has exceeded all expectations!
โThe demand totally overwhelmed us. We had no idea,โ said Darlene Jerome, a Memory Lab coordinator and past president of the Johnson County Genealogical Society. โWhatโs been most gratifying is serving the need in Johnson County. They donโt have to send their memories off and hope they get them back.โ
Equipment purchases for the Memory Lab were funded through a grant in partnership with the @jocolibraryfoundation. The service is available Mondays through Wednesdays and Fridays at Central Resource – and appointments can be made through the Genealogical Society`s website at https://jcgsks.org.

Childrenโs board books will be on sale for 1/2 price tomorrow! Most of our board books are $1.00, but they range in price from $0.25 for very small ones to $3.00 for those with sound.
PLUS – we`ll be celebrating `May the 4th Be with You` by putting all of our Star Wars books on special display!
